Le Mark Group’s new Kraken Tape® wins praise for rapid low cost industrial leak repair at the NEC.
Leaking industrial water pipes are always a problem even more so if they are in the roof space above the UK’s National Exhibition Centre Birmingham, England.
Specialist pipe work contractors Raby Mechanical Services were faced with difficult problem combination, pipe corrosion and restricted access on a 150NB mild steel pipe carrying process water at 15ºC and 4 Bar above an active NEC exhibition hall!
The alternatives were, consider a temporary repair by means off cutting back the main each side of split to sound metal and weld 2 flanges to cut ends and then install a new flanged make up section. The main would then need to be replaced during a latter plant shut down.
